A Great Time

In Oak Creek, a series of county-owned parks blend into one another. They feature bicycle and cross-country ski trails that wind through small woodlands and offer amazing vistas of Lake Michigan. Parks also surround 20 percent of the area in Franklin.

Whitnall Park and the Root River Parkway offer acres of green space for picnicking, bicycling, hiking trails and many other types of family enjoyment.
There is also the county-owned Boerner Botanical Gardens and Wehr Nature Center. Golfers will appreciate the three public golf courses and the private Tuckaway Country Club. Other attractions include the Crystal Ridge Ski Hill and Chalet, and at the Oak Creek Historical Society, visitors can see The Hughes Cabin, The Summer Kitchen, The Town Hall, The Blacksmith Shop, The Farm Shed and The Print Shop.

The area has no shortage of lodging and accommodations. There are many excellent hotel and motel facilities close at hand, and whether you're looking for a basic budget room, a fun place for a family vacation, a fabulous hotel suite getaway or a meeting room to conduct business, it can be found here. Oak Creek and Franklin also have restaurants galore, ranging from the familiar fast food chain establishments to fine gourmet dining and everything in between.
