No Place Like Home
Oak Creek is divided up into 22 distinct neighborhoods, each with diverse characteristics that make it unique. Surges in single-family home construction occurred in the 1960s, 1970s and throughout the 1990s. Some of the residential neighborhoods are comprised of all single-family homes, while others also include duplexes, mobile homes, condominiums and apartments. The value of housing ranges from entry-level at $50,000 to estate homes over $1 million dollars. The vast majority, however, are between $90,000 to $200,000. Rental costs vary greatly, based on the age and amenities of the complex.
Neighborhood safety is important to the community and Oak Creek takes pride in its new police department and three fire stations.
Franklin retains a distinctly rural atmosphere, and still has plenty of open land for development. The new state-of-the-art police station and three firehouses make it safe and attractive to those seeking a place to raise a family. New single-family homes are developing, particularly north of Highway 100. Neighborhoods are built around schools, parks and commercial centers, giving residents both breathing room and access to conveniences. While the average home sales price is estimated around $160,000, some of the planned communities are offering custom homes ranging from $273,990 to $324,990.
