Easily Accessible

Oak Creek and Franklin are located in Milwaukee County, along the western shore of Lake Michigan, close to the city of Milwaukee. The area is readily accessible by highway, rail or air.

Interstate Highway 94/43 passes through the western portion of Oak Creek; the city is served by four Interstate 94 interchanges. Interstate Highway 894 is located three miles north, and State Highway 241 passes through the western portion of the city.

Interstate Highway 94 is located immediately east of Franklin; Interstate 43 is immediately north. U.S. Highways 41 and 45 and State Trunk Highways 36 and 100 are also near the city.

Air transportation is available at General Mitchell International Airport, Kenosha Regional Airport, John H. Batten Field in Racine and Chicago's O'Hare International Airport, 70 miles south. Railway service is accessible via the Union Pacific Railroad and Canadian Pacific Railway. AMTRAK passenger service is available in downtown Milwaukee County and Sturtevant.

There are 406 trucking and warehousing establishments in Milwaukee County, with water transportation the Ferry Lake Express, which is located at the nearby Port of Milwaukee. Public transit bus routes are operated by the Milwaukee County Transit System in both cities, with Park-n-Ride lots and specialized services for the elderly and disabled.
