A variety of industry gives Joshua a competitive economic edge. Major area employers range from manufacturing and industrial firms to service oriented businesses and retailers. Farming also contributes to the economy, with dairy cow and horse facilities located around Joshua. Some of the area’s larger employers include KWS Manufacturing, Joshua ISD, Industrial Screw Conveyors, and Mallory’s Western/Leather. An active Chamber of Commerce contributes to the development of new and existing business. Tax abatement, capital fund and development assistance are available in qualifying instances, and the cities of Alvarado, Burleson and Cleburne (in Johnson County) are Enterprise Zone cities.
