Location
Karl Stefan Memorial Airport, located five minutes south of Norfolk, provides air freight and air express services. Supplementary all-cargo services (air-truck) are available with daily departures. Competitive fuel prices, a comfortable pilot and passenger lounge, and a courtesy car for limited local use are available, along with maintenance and repair, air taxi, charter, plane rental, aerial photography and flight training services. Two 5,800-feet paved and lighted runways are equipped with a full instrument landing system. The airport elevation is 1,572 feet above sea level and located at 41 degrees 59' 13" N latitude and 97 degrees, 26' 11" W longitude.
Madison and Norfolk are served by the Nebraska Central Railroad, a short line railroad with a coast to coast Class I connection to the Union Pacific just 48 miles south of Norfolk. Two scheduled trains daily serve local industry with additional service upon request. The Nebraska Northeastern Railroad serves the northern communities of the Elkhorn Valley area of Brunswick, Plainview and Osmond. The Class I connection for this short line is just 40 miles to the east with the Burlington Northern.

The Elkhorn Valley area provides extensive road and rail corridors to both coasts and south to Texas and Mexico. Barge facilities are available from ports on the Missouri River. Most major Midwest markets are within 24 hours shipping time. No major city is more than four days by truck or five days by rail. The regional trucking industry is strong, with more than 20 firms providing service including a variety of specialty carriers.
