Habersham is still considered a rural county, but it does offer a diversified business and industrial profile. Agriculture is strong through a variety of commodities - including beef cattle, hogs, grapes, apples, vegetables and hay. Poultry is the top local agricultural industry, and Habersham is sixth in the State of Georgia in farm gate value.

Manufacturing, small businesses and retail trades are diversified. Existing industries include manufacturers and distributors of surgical supplies, metal products, brooms, go-carts, metal fasteners, automobile parts, apparel, bedding fabrics, textiles and orthodontic products.
