of the Greater Fresno Area Chamber of Commerce

The Greater Fresno Area Chamber of Commerce proudly presents our 2005 Community Profile. Published in conjunction with our Chamber Membership Directory – which is a buyer’s guide to the Chamber members who provide goods and services in every business category – these resources should be the first place to check when looking to buy anything, anywhere in the Central Valley.

The Chamber is the meeting place for the business community. Our state-of-the-art headquarters in
downtown Fresno hosts dozens of committee, workgroup and task force meetings every month. Our mixers and membership events bring the business community together at member locations throughout the Greater Fresno area. Our board of directors, volunteers and staff represent the business community in hundreds of community projects and initiatives.

As a resource for business owners, here are some things you should know about the Greater Fresno Chamber:

• 2,000 member businesses in the Greater Fresno Area;

• An estimated 40,000 jobs represented by our member businesses;

• A state-of-the-technology website: www.fresnochamber.com that receives over a half-
million inquiries a year. All Chamber member businesses are listed in the web-based member directory on fresnochamber.com;

• The Chamber represents its members on legislative issues before Fresno City Council, County Board of Supervisors, California State Legislature, and the U.S. Congress and Senate.

All of this happens because our members provide support to our program of action. If the Chamber didn’t do it, who would? Without our members, where would the voice for the business community be on the variety of issues impacting the Central Valley?
